Civic Centre – Recreation Complex and Arts Centre
Port Moody, BC
This project includes the rehabilitation of three signature institutional buildings in Port Moody: The Civic Centre, which includes the City Hall, a theatre, and a library; the Recreation Complex, which includes 2 ice rinks, a curling rink, a running track, and a fitness center; and the Arts Centre which is the former City Hall and is a heritage designated building. The rehabilitation included building enclosure renewals, such as replacement of windows, recladding of masonry and aluminum composite panels, reroofing, and repainting. As well, there are significant mechanical and electrical upgrades. Part of the mechanical upgrades are intended to address a significant failure due to condensation at the Recreation Complex spa. The construction value was approximately $11.7 million.
